Sleepy baby

I am sure Zach would not be happy with the title, but as he tells Katie, we will always be moms baby. Zach was laying on the couch watching tv for a few minutes watching tv while I was reading to katie at bedtime becuase kev was not home. In the 10 minutes I was up there, he was out cold.

HO HO HO

Christmas time is coming, it was time to put up the tree. The kids had fun and were even somewhat clam during decorations. Katie was funny, she tried to put every ornament in the same spot.

The tooth

Zach was so upset when his friend Abby lost her first tooth. He wanted to know why he hadnt lost any yet. Quite a while ago he declared his tooth was loose, well now he can almost wiggle it all the way flat both forward and backwards (which of course grosses me out!!!). I have found out the tooth fairy is far more wealthy than when we were kids though. I am told a first tooth pulls in a good haul for the kids. I had to take a few before picts of his little snaggle tooth.

1/2 Marathon

Kev and I went to San Antonio to run the Inagural Rock n Roll 1/2 Marathon. We had a good time. The flight down was a little rough, but nothing a little antivert couldnt help:)
We walked all around downtown on Saturday (beucase the upcoming 13.1 miles just wasnt enough) and basically just enjoyed the nice weather and time. We went to the expo and picked up our packets and decided to purchase some new running pants since we both wanted a pair anyway and it was unseasonably cold for the race start. 4:30 am rolled around Sunday morning, we got up, got dressed and I went to put my shoes on and encountered our first issue. I packed the wrong shoes!! Well, 1 was wrong. I had one old and one new. WHat was I going to do at this point, so off we went to the race with me wearing 2 different shoes. I have a whole new appreciation for good running shoes as the addidas shoe wasnt really a running shoe, but an old workout shoe. I survived none the less and finished under my goal of 2 hours. My time was 1:59:28 and Kev's was 1:59:18 (becuase he was a good husband and stayed with me to keep me going).

MELTDOWN

What is it that flips that switch in kids that they have complete and total meltdown? And to make it worse over NOTHING. Yesterday was conference day with Zachs teacher. All went fine, a few backwards letter and he was defined as the class clown by his teacher, but other wise good. We finsih up, get zach and Kev takes him to Mcdonalds (I was getting katie from a friends and was going to meet him there). Zach declared 4 (yes four) times he wanted to just go home and have waffles so he could play with his hackey sack from school. Kev takes him home and he melts down crying and screaming that he wanted mcdonalds. This went on the whole way home, he stayed in the car (in the garage) at home, then came in and went to his room and stommped, slammed and screamed for another hour (during which I tried everything from sitting with him, talking to him, yelling at him...) until I had enough told him to put his PJ's on and go to bed. Kev just sat there and finally he fell asleep at 6:45. He slept all night long too. I was expecting him to wake at midnight starving. He woke up today, didnt seem hungry and never mentioned the whole epoisode and was happy as can be. What it the world caused that??????????????

Happy Almost Birthday

We had a birthday party for Katie on Sunday (though her birthday is the 9th). She loved everyone being around. Here are a few of the pictures. I made them a little smaller, just click on them and the big images come up.

Friends

Sometimes the kids can actually be friends and play well together. Sunday while I was trying to get things ready for Katie's party the kids were off in the playroom (which Kev had cleaned and we took pictures for proof). This is how they came out, Zach will love these pictures some day!

Trick or Treat

I dont think there is a kid out there that doesnt love halloween. Whats better than walking around and collecting free candy that you can then spend the next few weeks begging your parents for. Zach and katie both had a good time. Though about an hour into it, Katie sat on the side of the road and announced she was finished and wanted to go home so she and daddy went home and passed out candy. Here are a few pictures

Art Work

I found out yesterday Kaitlyn is going to be the artist in the family. I picked her up from school yesterday to find her shirt on backwards and inside out. Who knows why, but I was in a hurry to pick them up as we had to get to the doctors office for flu shots. I pick up Zach and off to the doctor we go. I lift Katies shirt to put it on right and find her belly completly colored (well, the remenants after someone obviously tried to wash it). She even used multiple colors. I am still unsure where the teacher was longer enough for her to do this. She told me a whole story about her friend Presley coloring her belly button. I asked her teacher this morning and she said Katie did it herself while she was over in the closet getting something. I am a little unsure how she knows katie did it if she wasnt there, but thats another story. My little artist was born.

Go State!

No matter how the rest of the weekend goes, it is always a great weekend when State wins and even better when State wins and U of M looses, and the best when that happens and they are playing each other.
We went north for the weekend and went to a friends house for a fall harvest/MSU v UofM party. It was a lot of fun, the kids had a ball, had more sugar than you can imagine, and loved the bon fire!
The weather north was perfect and now we are just waiting on snow to get the snowmobiles out. Still forgot to get batteries for the camera so no new picts today.

Getting Started

Well, since my www.zachandkailtyn.com registration was almost up, I decided to try out a blog instead of the whole website. Its a little easier to add information to from anywhere, which means a better chance I will keep it up.

We are all doing well and keeping busy. Knock on wood everyone is healthy, Zach's surgeries must have done something, becuase by this time of the year int he past, he would have been sick for months.

Katie is doing well too and growing up so fast. She will be three in about 2 weeks. She is out of diapers and has announced that the pacificiers she sleeps with can go in a box on her birthday (we will see how that goes).
